Pinch Me! I Must Be Dreamblogging!

EEK. This past weekend was a dream sequence created by the life equivalent of Pixar. Heartwarming, whimsical, tongue-in-cheeky, and too well-crafted to be real.

Working with Paul F. Tompkins (and that F. is really important because one of the show billboards listed his name without it, and reading "Paul Tompkins" was one serious episode of extreme blinking and doubletaking) was a razzledazzle, too-good-to-be-true time.

He was the most gentlemanly of all gentlefolks, and so sincere and genuine. Not even counting his dapper pinstripe suits and polished manner, he was just the nicest and most down-to-earth person. His sets were amazing, fantastic, unfiltered masterpieces.

As for my own take, both the shows were lots of fun and had packed houses, filled to the brim with merrymakers.

After the Saturday night show, a group of women mobbed me (I call a group of two or more being mobbed) and one of them planted not one, not two, but threeeee sloppy kissypoos right on my cheek. They were a most effusive bunch, but the kissing was an audience-first! I hardly knew what to say but luckily, they did most of the talking, and I was grateful for it and for them!

I got to meet lots of other nice people as well, but alas, no other PDFA (public displays of fan affection) for the night.

I also took my first sip of water onstage, as I have an irate fear of the audience turning on me (via rioting) if I stop talking for even a second. Luckily, PFT scoffed at my fear before the show, and gave me the confidence to go for a few drops of agua down the gullet, which helped the last ten minutes of my set not sound like att-hack of the bronchial monster.

PFT was generous enough to sit in on both of my sets, which is so kind of him that I need to take a chill pill just thinking about it.

He also signed my jokebook. Swoon. And I got a picture with him. Smelling salts and revive!

Suffice it to say I'm too starry-eyed to think of much else to say at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the shows!! I am glad you got to enjoy the eloquent genius of PFT, and it was so nice to see and/or meet all of your clean and clear faces.

Welcome to the world of cheek kisses. It's what theater people do. It's what they live for.

I saw the kisses being slammed onto your cheek. It was the most violent show of love I have ever seen.
