Querida Amiga, Quédate Por Un Rato

My dear friend
(Via Facebook)

I have made a nice little corner for Alice in my head. There's a big floppy soft couch there, where she can hang out and relax. There are also some snacks, books, and games, in case she needs some extra entertainment, in addition to all the hijinks that happen here on a regular basis. And she is also free to leave to explore nearby forests and mountains if she so chooses. I'm glad for the company though. It makes me happy.

Music also helps (a bit much, but I needed to do it. Alice is shaking her head and smiling at me.):

Dear Aparna,

I've been reading with great sadness your stories about Alice, but I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for sharing these stories of her. I especially like this picture because I can see very clearly what a radiant soul she had. It must be a very painful time, but I'm so glad that you're writing about it because it allows me the chance to know Alice through your memories. So thank you, and the next time I see you in person, I will offer you a hug (or an awkward wave. . .whatever works for you) and a smile.

PS Here's a blog I like to go to when I'm feeling like hope has hidden itself from me. Maybe it will be a comfort to you too.

Be well,

Dearest Aparna,

I'm glad to be helpful if even in only the smallest way. And I really hope you do go to Jen's blog. I've been reading for about a year now and she never fails to pick me up when I need it most. In case you only have time for a few entries, I added links to a few of my favorites:

Thanks so much, Becca! I started reading them, and I will definitely add her to my links. She has a nice noggin on her shoulders, and I like her style.
